I made a new larger lathe woodturning tool holder rack for the wall as I’ve outgrown the old one. This one holds 24 tools and is a little nicer than my old one. Solid birch, 3 feet long.

What inspired you to choose birch for your new woodturning tool rack, and how does it compare to other woods you’ve worked with?
Birch is a little cheaper than maple per board foot and looks the same, and is almost the same hardness. I wanted a lighter neutral wood on my wall. Sometimes walnut is just too dark.
